Baked Green Bean “Fries”
Ingredients
1 pound fresh green beans
¼ cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup panko bread crumbs
1 egg
Directions
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Rinse and dry the green beans then cut the ends off. Place the green beans in a large zip top bag and add the flour and salt. Shake the bag to coat the beans. In another bowl add the panko bread crumbs. In a second bowl add the egg and whisk until smooth.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper of silicon baking mats to avoid sticking. Take each flour coated green bean, dig in egg and then press gently into the panko bread crumb so they stick. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
I wanted to try a healthier recipe so I made these green beans. These were not bad. I served them with a dip on the side. The dip helped make these delicious.
