Baked Spaghetti Squash (with Creamy Basil Alfredo Sauce and Ham)

Ingredients

1 spaghetti squash

2 tablespoons olive oil

salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste

Sauce

1 ham steak

1 jar creamy basil alfredo sauce

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Cut the Spaghetti Squash in half lengthwise. Once the squash has been cut in half use a spoon to scrape out all the seeds and strings ( see picture below). Rub the olive oil all over the squash then season with salt and pepper. Place squash cut side down on a baking dish that’s been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until the squash is tender. Remove from oven. Let stand for a few minutes to cool off. Then use a fork to remove the flesh creating strands.

If you are using the sauce and ham listed above

While squash is baking in the oven cut the ham steak into approximately 1 inch cubes. Cook sauce and ham over medium heat in a sauce pan until heated through.

To serve …. put the squash strands on a plate. Top with some of the sauce and ham.
