French Apple Dessert
Total Time: 2 hours Yield: 12 servings
Ingredients
Streusel Topping
1cup bisquick mix
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons cold butter
Filling
6 cups peeled and sliced apples (6 medium) – I like using gala or mcintosh
1 cup granulated sugar
¾ cup Original Bisquick™ mix
¾ cup milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 ¼ teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 eggs
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. In small bowl mix 1 cup bisquick mix, cinnamon and brown sugar. Add 3 tablespoons of cold butter. Cut the butter in with a fork until the mixture is crumbly. Set aside. Put the prepared apples in the baking dish. In a medium bowl mix the remaining filling ingredients until well blended. Pour the mixture over the apples then sprinkle with the topping. Bake about 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for about 15 – 30 minutes. Serve warm as is or with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
