Frikadellen

Frikadellen
Total Time: 45 minutes Yield: approximately 4 servings
Ingredients
4 slices white bread
1 pound 80/20 ground beef – you can use 1/2 beef and 1/2 pork if you prefer
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 ½ teaspoons beef bouillon granules
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
2 eggs
salt and pepper to taste
oil for frying
Directions
Soak the bread in a bowl of milk or water for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes drain the liquid and squeeze out the excess water out of the bread. Put the bread into a large bowl. Add all remaining ingredients and mix until well blended. I use a wooden spoon but sometimes find that using my hands is much easier. Shape into patties that are about the size of the palm of your hand. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat and fry the patties until nicely browned and no longer pink on the inside. I have a Blackstone griddle that I like to use for these. It helps to get a nicely browned crunchy crust.
