Homemade Chili
Chili
Ingredients
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
2 pounds ground beef
1 large chopped onion
4 cans rotel ( diced tomatoes with chilies)
2 cans red kidney beans
2 cloves chopped garlic
1 – 2 tablespoons of chili seasoning (recipe below)
salt and pepper to taste
Chili seasoning
5 tablespoons chili powder
2 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
Directions
Brown the ground beef in a medium size pan. Cook and stir until lightly browned and crumbly. Drain the excess grease. Add the chopped onion and the garlic to the ground beef and cook until the onions are translucent and the ground beef is nicely browned. About 5 to 10 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of the seasoning to the ground beef and stir. If you would like your chili milder use less seasoning and if you would like it spicier use more seasoning. Add salt and pepper to taste then add the tomatoes and beans to the ground beef mixture. Simmer on low for about an hour. Stir every 10 minutes or so.
