Pickled Onions

Ingredients

2 large red onions, cut in half and sliced thinly

1 cup hot water

1 cup apple cider vinegar

2 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt

2 tablespoons white sugar

Directions

Heat the water, vinegar, sugar and salt either on your stovetop or in the microwave until it is hot. Remove from heat and stir until the sugar and salt have dissolved. Add the onions to a glass container with lid. A mason jar works perfectly for this recipe. Pour the hot liquid over the onions in the jar. Put the lid on an let cool to room temperature. Once cooled refrigerate.
