THE BEST EVER HONEYBUN CAKE

Ingredients

1 box white or yellow cake mix
8 ounces sour  Cream
4 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1  1/2 cups light brown sugar
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
2 c. powdered sugar
3-4 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 325. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with non-stick cooking spray.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, the eggs, oil, and the sour cream. Mix until all ingredients are just combined. You can either use a Hand Mixer or you can mix by hand with a Spatula or Wooden Spoon. Don’t over mix. Just mix until most of the larger lumps are gone. In another bowl mix the brown sugar and cinnamon until combined. Pour a third of the cake batter into the pan and then sprinkle the brown sugar mixture all over the batter then carefully spread the remaining batter on top. It will seem like a mess but it’s ok. Use a Butter Knife to swirl the brown sugar mixture throughout the batter. Take a look at my pictures below. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. While the Cake is baking mix the powdered sugar, vanilla and milk together. When the cake comes out of the oven pour the powdered sugar mixture over the warm cake.

This is what the Cake looked like prior to baking. After it was done my family devoured it. As you can see I did not get a chance to take a picture of the finished product. Yes, it was that good.

  1. So easy to make and it didn’t taste like a box mix cake. It literally melted in my mouth. If you like honeybuns or cinnamon you will love this for sure. My family devoured this in a day.
