Turkey Breakfast Sausage
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey
2 teaspoons dried sage
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes – depending on your taste, a little more or less
2 tablespoons maple syrup
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon olive oil
Directions
Mix ground turkey with all the spices and the maple syrup in a medium size bowl until well combined. Form into patties. When forming the patties it helps to put a little water on your hands to prevent the mixture from sticking to your hands. In a medium size skillet sauté the turkey patties in a teaspoon of butter and a teaspoon of olive oil. Cook until golden and no longer pink inside (or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees ).
I made this recipe and I will probably never buy sausage again.
I have made this several times now and it is easily my favorite homemade sausage recipe. This sausage is very flavorful
